I always assume that professors know more than I do when I enter their classroom. Maybe I know more in pop culture, bmx, or some other un-scholarly topic but when it comes to the class their teaching or other university courses, I always assume they know their stuff. However in my 2 years of being in university I have learned that some professors make mistakes or are just completely retarded. For example, I took a computer course in my first year, intro to computing to be exact. It was a course on word….excel…. and basic web design as well as some javascript. So alls going well until I realize that the prof is a little off. First of all, every other sentence he would say “down in here”. Example, “and down in here we see that /b tags will make the text bold and down in here we can see it in the webpage, and down in here est…”. This professor was also the professor which did not know how to mute the volume on his computer…in a intro computer class. I’m not kidding, he actually needed a student to come up and mute the computer for him. Thats when I stopped going to class and came out with a 80 in the class.
That is probably the worst case of “stupid prof syndrome”, but more are still to come. For the most part professors live up to my expiations but sometimes you always get that old senile one or crazy one that makes you think how in the hell they got their phD.
